Coloring is difficult for me. Having good color taste is different from being able to create with color successfully. In the past, my method for overcoming this deficiency was "accuracy by volume". Meaning, I would endlessly create version after version after version until I landed on something accidentally along the way. This was painful and wasteful. People would complement the coloring not realizing it came through simply grinding through everything that didn't work. The palette was created from no great vision of mine.

For "Collusion" however, it was a group effort and it paid off. While the process was still a long one, the end result was far greater and much more satisfying. Funnily enough, the most common resistance to the artwork is actually the name. BUT Collusion is the perfect name for something that was not only created from putting heads together, but she also presents well paired rather than in a singular panel. Hanging a single panel is obviously an option, but the true "colors" show through when the two are colluding together. Enjoy.

If your space requires two pieces, please order them at the same time so we can be sure the wood coloring is close. Thanks. -Phil.

Andrew ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This is the second piece that I have purchased from Phillip Roberts. I liked the first one so much that I was moved to buy another. The intricate design is mesmerizing. If you are on the fence about purchasing one of his works, do not hesitate.

Every piece of artwork is made in my little studio here in Southern NJ. The wooden panels are constructed from various plywoods, which means that each one turns out slightly different depending on the grain and how the wood accepts the stain. Most commonly, the wooden pieces are created from Mahogany, Red Oak, and White Birch. The different layers are sometimes stained different colors in order to bring out the design's depth. It also adds more aesthetic texture to an already lively appearance. Note, the appearance will change throughout the day depending on the light.
