Demure is most often associated with describing any modest and reserved behavior.  However, Etymologists believe it may have been derived from the Anglo-French verb demorer or demourer, which means "to linger." The word "Demure" is precisely what I strive to create in the viewer with each and every design.  There is nothing more satisfying to me than to catch someone "stuck" staring at my work.  Lingering.  To me, the perfect design looks great from across the room and then only becomes more interesting as you explore it with more attention.  This piece does just that.  I look forward to hearing if this piece grabs the attention of guests wherever she finds a home.

Fun Facts regarding the Intricacy of Demure:
Number of cuts to make one Demure: 23,877
If you strung all of the cuts into one straight line, it would be 3735 feet long. That length of cut is all contained within the 48" space of "Demure".

- 48" Round (122cm)
- 12 Layers
- Hangs on super simple French Cleat
- Comes with mounting hardware
- Wall behind artwork is seen through middle and other areas

Demure ships through "normal" UPS and arrives in a large cardboard box just like any other.  Also, due to the large amount of wood removed from the design, she only weighs ~19lbs (9kg).

Every piece of artwork is made in my little studio here in Southern NJ. The wooden panels are constructed from various plywoods, which means that each one turns out slightly different depending on the grain and how the wood accepts the stain. Most commonly, the wooden pieces are created from Mahogany, Red Oak, and White Birch. The different layers are sometimes stained different colors in order to bring out the design's depth. It also adds more aesthetic texture to an already lively appearance. Note, the appearance will change throughout the day depending on the light.
